Who we are
What is our purpose?
Welcome to the 2051 Dragoons Parent Committee

The Parents Committee of the 2051 19th Alberta Dragoons is a group of dedicated individuals who work together to support our cadets and ensure that the aims and objectives of the Army Cadet program are being achieved. Our committee is made up of parents who volunteer their time, and work closely with the Commanding Officer, to:
-
assist in recruiting cadets,
-
publicize the Corps' events,
-
help organize fundraising events, and
-
provide financial support with the funds received through fundraising and donations.
We believe in the importance of building strong relationships between parents, youth, and the wider community, and we are committed to working together to make a positive impact. The Army Cadet Program is an amazing youth organization for youth aged 12 to 18 offered at no cost to their families. Investing in teens demonstrates to them that they matter and are supported by caring adults and the community as a whole.
If you are a parent or a member of the community and would like to get even more involved, joining the 2051 Dragoons Parents Committee might be the best opportunity for you. All members must be screened by the Army Cadet League of Canada prior to joining the Parents Committee.
Exciting Opportunity: Free Hunter Education Course!
Cadets are invited to register for the Hunter Education Course, an online, self-paced course required for all first-time hunters in Alberta. Thanks to generous sponsorship from the Alberta Army Cadet League, the usual $70 registration fee is completely covered! The 2051 Dragoons Parent Committee will facilitate the cadet's registration.
Once registered, cadets must complete the course, as sponsorship funds are being invested in your success. You’ll also have the option to use the third training period (from November to April) at the LHQ to work on the course.
Stay connected! Registered cadets will be added to a Teams channel on Cadet365 for collaboration and access to helpful resources.
ATTENTION PARENTS! If you are registering on behalf of your cadet, please make sure you ask them first as this is not truly a free course (someone is paying the registration fee). If they are not interested, please do not register.
