Advanced Leadership Program (ALP)

 

The ALP is an optional program for cadets in Years 5 and up. It replaces the old Year 5 program, and gives senior cadets opportunities to network, learn about leadership, and help plan and lead large-scale activities.

 

The ALP is not a requirement for promotion, but cadets who complete it will acquire skills and abilities that can help them stand out as leaders among their peers. It’s an additional qualification for cadets to include in their resume, for Cadet Program appointments, civilian jobs, and other opportunities they may be applying for.

For a cadet to take part in the Advanced Leadership Program, they must be Year 4 qualified and have completed:

​

  • PO 408 - Command a Platoon/Flight/Division on Parade; and

  • PO 409 - Instruct a Lesson

​

The ALP is run by both the Area and the local corps/squadron. Below is how it is structured:
